Be a part of an engaging Children's
Literacy Experience
Every gift — any amount — helps build literacy and confidence for young authors across the nation. Donations are made in partnership with Nia Imani Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and are tax-deductible.
Your contribution provides the space, time, supplies, and gifts for the students in urban and rural areas that need it most. Post COVID, American literacy rates have plummeted. Our students are lacking at producing grade level reading and writing.
While many great organizations focus on reading books as their primary motivational mission, the “Lit'l Authors Bookmaking Workshop” focuses on writing, authorship, and full reading comprehension.
We teach students that learning to read, and to read well is very important. But/and learning to write, and to write well is equally important. Writing teaches them that they can be creators, not just consumers. And writing teaches them one of the most important lessons, and that is, that their stories and voices matter!
So please make your gift or donation today to support this movement. You will be added to our email list and will be kept informed on schedules and activities via our monthly email.
For tax deductible contributions, please email for proper invoicing: info@flowuptoday.com

The "Lit'l Authors Bookmaking Workshop" is a movement to inspire elementary students to not only read with confidence, but to discover their own voices as authors. This immersive experience builds literacy, character, and creativity — empowering children to realize that while reading well is essential, writing their own stories is transformative. Reading and WRITING is the hallmark of literacy!
We were a part of the first-ever Children's Book Making Event at the Obama Presidential Center (OPC). This was more than a workshop — it was an historic moment in children's literacy, and every participant became part of that story.
Children ages 8–13 were invited to spend a transformative afternoon at one of America's most iconic venues — creating their very own books, exploring their voices as authors, and leaving with memories (and gifts) they will treasure for a lifetime!
